Regio TV - 8 Oct 2020 - Law Enforcement and Police must explain
Regio TV - the Overstrand's online tv-station. Poacher gangs went on the rampage in Kleinmond's Main rd on Monday, apparently targeting white motorists specifically (please listen to exactly why we say this before making comments). One woman was injured and a journalist from the Daily Maverick publication, Ismail Lagardien was hospitalised. Lagardien suffered a broken jaw sustained when a brick was thrown through the passenger window. At least nine vehicles damaged. This follows a raid by Cape Town's Crime Intelligence Unit during which five locals were arrested and perlemoen confiscated. The local Kleinmond newspaper, the Overstrand Herald has meanwhile given both the Overstrand Mayor, Mr Dudley Coetzee and the Police's Cluster Commander, Brig. Donovan Heilbron seven (7) days to institute an investigation into why their respective officials did not act sooner to try and stop innocent and unsuspecting motorists from driving into this life threatening situation. Should they not investigate the Herald has undertaken to launch complaints with the Western Cape Police Ombudsman, the Public Protector and the Human Rights Commission.
